I received my first camera as a gift from my parents when I was seven years old. I dabbled for several years and photography eventually developed into a passion that continued to increase, especially after my daughter was born. I minored in art during my undergraduate studies and took photography classes there, but much of my experience has been through experimentation, exploration, and trial and error. I love being able to tell stories through photography and still feel pretty amazed that we have the ability to look back on these brief moments in our lives and hold those memories in our hands.

When I’m not taking pictures, I can be found spending time with my husband and daughter in Raleigh, North Carolina.

A few more random things (if you really want to know)…
-I love what I do.
-I love to travel and want to see as much as I can. A few places that I’d like to visit: New Zealand, Iceland, Kenya, Greenland, and Peru.
-Creating is a necessity–whether it’s photography, poetry writing, ceramics, watercolor, or really terrible crochet work–I feel best when I’m creating something.
-I really, really wish I could raise one eyebrow at a time (and I’ve practiced a lot), but my face just won’t cooperate.
-If I want to feel like I’m taking a mini vacation, a night off with some fish tacos and a margarita usually does the trick.
-I want to take your picture 🙂
